A subset of my team is traveling to an application security
summit today a few hours away. It's a compelling event....more valuable than
the alternative things that we can be doing today.
If one of us were taking our own car, there would be little
question who would drive. Instead, we have a company vehicle.
The open question is who will drive.
My suspicion is that all of us would prefer not to drive in the early morning. Let someone else be first.
That said, someone will end up driving. The compelling nature of the event hopefully outweighs any confusion or ownership about who is driving.
The act of driving as a mirrror of cyber security, a metaphor.

I'm sympathizing with business managers that feel this same apprehension every day around owning and securing
their business processes.
