Defending the cloud means automation.
Pull a string on any cloud standard and some lines of code
should jiggle up and down ready to enforce it in an automated way. This means
the team must code. And, they must also think. And, also engage those impacted
by any friction from the automation.
Yeah, I write this knowing that my team isn’t there either.
But, we know where the North Star is. A North Star that’s as easy to explain to
your own executives as what’s written above.
Your roadmap to the North Star will just involve coloring in
the white space. The levers that your organization needs to get you there. The
measures that help keep you pointed in the right direction. How bad actors use automation.
Now, instead of tools and technical mumbo jumbo, you have
something that execs can understand. Something that they can chew on.
Something that they'll realize that they need to resource.
