Cyber security doesn’t have a management challenge. It has a
leadership challenge.
The indicators are obvious.
Programs tend to have unhappy people and an executive team
overloaded with process but short on continual positive change, communications
about future direction, and the resources needed to effect that change.
If you believe like me that leaders create positive change
by influencing people and managers maintain processes and resources, then most
signs point to a widespread leadership issue in cyber security.
Many cybersecurity managers but a dearth of leaders.
Meanwhile, employees hunger for leadership.
And keep moving on with their nomadic search for it.

direction, regardless of your role,
Raise your hand and rise to the challenge.
